NDIS Counselling Melbourne
For people who are experiencing a great deal of emotional and mental distress, one of their main concerns is finding a healthcare provider who truly understands their condition. Treatment and recovery may come in various ways, but it takes genuine care and support to help participants get back on their feet. Luckily, for individuals residing in Melbourne, they can have access to counsellors from Positive Moods, who are registered in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
These professionals know that the mental wellbeing of a client is as important as their physical health. Therefore, through Positive Moods, they provide psychological care through comfortable appointments and therapy sessions to accommodate their participant’s needs. With their utmost priority centred on helping their clients overcome their barriers, our NDIS counsellors connect with the participant’s family and community for a stronger network of support.
Through their numerous tools, our NDIS Counsellors in Melbourne can ensure that the participant only gets high-quality service to assist the holistic growth of their mental health.
NDIS Counsellors: Here to Help
The NDIS is a health care provider for Australians who have permanent and significant disabilities. They can provide participants with funding for the necessary services and supports related to their treatment. Through NDIS, the participants and their families can be given information regarding services that may concern them. More than that, the NDIS can also connect the participants to networks such as support groups, social clubs, and doctors; all of which can give a positive impact on the participant’s growth.
In terms of psychological assistance, NDIS Counselling Melbourne makes it a priority that their participants have the freedom to facilitate the services they receive. Participants of NDIS can choose the type of counselling that best fit them depending on the demands of their situation and their goals in the future. Under this planning, the participant can also control how they will receive the services and the kind of environment they are most comfortable in receiving them. All of these services will be chosen according to the specific requirements of the participant’s condition and will be open for changes if needed.
Counselling and therapy offered by our counsellors can guide participants in tackling the problems that heavily affect their daily living. Through safe platforms and trustworthy professionals, participants can find positive and effective solutions to help them overcome challenges.
Road to Recovery
Our NDIS-registered counsellors at Positive Moods understand what difficulties may arise due to mental and emotional problems. Thus, their approach to treatment is built on encouragement and trust, so that the participant may find it comfortable to discuss their issues. Counsellors are responsible for helping their participants identify the roots of their problem and suggest methods on how to resolve them. This does not mean that the counsellors simply tell the participant what to do; but rather work on providing assistance that the participant seeks and work towards the outcome they wish from the sessions.
In Positive Moods, the counsellors conduct treatment through helping the participants with the following matters:
Get to know the wishes and goals of the participant and connect them with the necessary resources;
Help the participant in developing healthy and effective coping mechanisms that can ease them from traumatic or stressful situations;
Conduct evaluation tests that will identify the necessary interventions to be used;
Adjust the treatment plan according to the changes in the participant’s needs;
Continuously check the progress and development of the participant;
Provide counselling sessions in the participant’s home if there are problems with the cost of transportation and travelling capacities; and
Connect the participant with healthcare providers and their community so that their treatment is more personalised.
Through regular counselling sessions, the participant can know how to manage mental health disorders or issues regarding the various areas in their lives. This may include, but not limited to:
Anxiety and depression;
Stress management:
Behavioural issues;
Sexual abuse;
Traumatic events; and
Coping with difficult life transitions and changes.
Treatment from NDIS Counselling Melbourne
Receiving treatment means that the participant’s recovery is oriented towards their goals, whether short term or long term. Once the counsellor understands this, they will be pairing the participant with a service provider who can assist in creating an NDIS plan. This plan is structured to accommodate the specific needs of the participant’s conditions, as well as the goals that were formerly discussed. The participant has the liberty to determine the number of counselling sessions and what other services can be included in the plan.
The NDIS plan can include a variety of services which are Group Therapy sessions, Group Counselling, Community Engagement Assistance, and Individual Counselling. For the Individual Counselling, participants can choose to have this service done within their homes. If the participant ever wishes to adjust the supports they receive, they are always welcome to do so. Nevertheless, the NDIS plan will be used to measure the participant’s development and progress, so that the counsellors may understand what steps need to be taken in the future.
