Brigit
Brigit is a passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and adults navigating the challenges of autism, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Brigit is a lived-experience neurodiverse practitioner, as well as an Estonian immigrant, so she has a natural drive to work with a broad and inclusive caseload and has a holistic perspective on client care. Her sessions are conducted in a calm setting to ensure her participants feel comfortable in sharing their story, and Brigit’s playful nature ensures that her participants feel that every session ends on a light and positive note.
Utilising a variety of therapeutic techniques, including strengths-based and person-centered approaches, solution-focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt therapy, mindfulness, systemic approaches, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and narrative therapy. These techniques, alongside Brigit’s empathetic approach allow her to provide holistic and tailored support to each individual.
Brigit believes in building up her community and has worked across family violence counselling, youth counselling, disability support work and aged care support work. Her diverse background and academic qualifications, including a Bachelor of Science (Psychology/Psychophysiology) and a Master of Counselling, equip her with the skills and knowledge to effectively support her clients in a range of settings.
